Our Story
Built Around Creativity, Family and a Love of Making
Hi, I’m Bryan—the owner and maker behind Timberbark Creations.
The business began during an important chapter of my life. When my son was born, I became a stay-at-home dad. While caring for him, I spent much of my spare time building things, working around the house and taking on woodworking projects.
What started as a creative hobby quickly became something more. Friends and neighbours began asking if I could build pieces for them, and I discovered how rewarding it was to create something specifically for another person.
As my son grew older, I decided it was time to turn that hobby into a small business. Timberbark Creations grew from those first handmade projects into what it is today: a home-based creative business serving families, gift-givers and local businesses throughout Wasaga Beach and beyond.
The Meaning Behind Timberbark
The name Timberbark Creations brings together two important parts of my story.
My earliest products were primarily woodworking projects, including live-edge tables, shelving, charcuterie boards and other pieces that celebrated the natural character of wood. That inspired the “Timber” part of the name.
Before starting the business, my education and career were in veterinary hospital management, and I worked in a veterinary clinic. Animals have always been part of my life—and when my son was little, he especially loved wolves. “Bark” became a fitting nod to that connection with animals and nature.
Together, Timberbark represents where I came from: woodworking, animals, family and a love of creating.
Made Personally, Not Mass-Produced
Timberbark has grown beyond its woodworking beginnings to include laser engraving, laser-cut designs, personalized gifts, home décor, keepsakes and 3D-printed creations. Although the tools and possibilities have expanded, the heart of the business has stayed the same.
I am still the person designing, making, finishing and personalizing your order. Timberbark is a solo maker business—not a factory or a mass-production company.
That means I can take the time to listen to your ideas, adjust the little details and create something that feels right for the person receiving it. Whether it is a personalized ornament, a family sign, a pet memorial, a custom gift or a piece for a local business, I want it to feel like it was made for a reason—not simply taken from a shelf.
A Family Business in Every Sense
Although I am the maker behind Timberbark, my wife and son are an important part of the journey. They have supported the business as it has grown, helped at events and shared many weekends with me at markets and festivals throughout the region.
Those markets have become one of my favourite parts of running Timberbark. They give me the opportunity to meet customers, hear the stories behind their orders and watch someone’s reaction when an idea becomes something real.
Being based in Wasaga Beach also keeps Timberbark closely connected to the community that helped it begin. The support of local families, neighbours, market visitors and other small businesses has allowed my hobby to become something much bigger than I originally imagined.
Made for Your Story
I believe the best personalized products do more than display a name or date. They celebrate a family, remember a pet, mark an achievement, share an inside joke or preserve a meaningful moment.
That is what I want Timberbark Creations to be: a place where your ideas and stories can become something tangible—made thoughtfully, made locally and made especially for you.
Thank you for supporting my small business and allowing me to create something that becomes part of your story.
